K-food products such as green tea and sauces attracted significant interest at “THAIFEX-ANUGA 2026,” regarded as Asia’s largest food exhibition.
The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on the 2nd that it participated in “THAIFEX-ANUGA 2026,” held in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 26 to 30, as part of an integrated Korea Pavilion.
Marking its 21st edition this year, THAIFEX-ANUGA is Asia’s largest food exhibition, jointly organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) of the Thai Ministry of Commerce and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) in partnership with Germany’s “ANUGA,” one of the world’s three major food fairs. This year’s event occupied more than 140,000㎡ across 12 exhibition halls, with participation from over 3,590 companies representing 56 countries.
At the integrated Korea Pavilion, jointly operated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and aT, 59 leading Korean food exporters showcased a wide range of K-food products targeting the Thai and ASEAN markets. The exhibition was structured around high-potential categories with strong local demand, such as street foods and beverages, and was operated as an experience-oriented space where visitors could directly taste and sample products.
On the opening day of the exhibition, a “K-Food Night” reception was held to facilitate networking between Korean companies and local buyers. The growing awareness and familiarity with Korean food culture, driven by the spread of K-content, translated into positive outcomes in actual business meetings. Participating companies conducted detailed discussions focusing on pricing, distribution channels, and local sales potential. Efforts to expand exports of vegan dumplings, green tea products, and sauces led to the signing of MOUs with buyers, contributing to a total of USD 97.2 million (approximately KRW 150 billion) in export consultations.
Jeon Ki-chan, Director of Export Food at aT, stated, “In ASEAN, consumption of products that are tasty yet convenient to enjoy continues to expand,” adding, “As this is a core market for expanding the territory of agri-food products, aT will continue to support the broader penetration of K-food.”
Meanwhile, it was reported that Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul personally visited the venue for this year’s THAIFEX-ANUGA. He toured the Samyang Foods booth and examined its products and brand in person. In addition, Shin Yoo-yeol, Head of Future Growth at Lotte Corporation and Co-CEO of Lotte Biologics, and the eldest son of Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin, inspected on-site the operations of Lotte Wellfood, which took part in the exhibition for the first time this year.
