Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, who visited Korea for the 2025 APEC Summit, visited Skyline Luge Busan, a representative activity from New Zealand.
Skyline Luge announced on the 7th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lotte World Adventure Busan and GS Retail on the 30th of last month. The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both countries, including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Dawn Bennet, the New Zealand Ambassador to Korea, Lee Jung-sil, President of the Busan Tourism Organization, Shin Chang-ho, President of the Busan Urban Corporation, and Lee Dong-wook, Director of the Korea Tourism Organization's Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam branch, who gathered to strengthen strategic cooperation among major facilities in the Osiria Tourism Complex.
Through this agreement, the three companies plan to expand cooperation in various fields, including △joint marketing activities to attract domestic and international tourists △joint development of linked products and sales channels, and establish a sustainable partnership to enhance the global competitiveness of Busan tourism.
The event featured welcoming speeches by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Sarah Ottrey, Director of Skyline Enterprises, followed by a commemorative tree planting ceremony where they planted a camellia tree, a symbol of Busan and a native plant of New Zealand. This tree planting held significant meaning as a symbol of friendship and mutual growth between Busan and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Skyline Luge, a gravity-driven attraction first developed in New Zealand in 1985, opened its first location in Tongyeong, South Korea, in 2017, and its second location in Gijang, Busan, in 2021, establishing itself as a leading experiential tourist destination in South Korea.
