This year, the 23rd International Green Energy Expo is being held as a national energy industry event. Scene from last year’s event at EXCO in Buk-gu, Daegu. Provided by Daegu Metropolitan City.
The “International Green Energy Expo,” regarded as the largest energy industry exhibition in Korea, will be held from 22 to 24 April at EXCO in Buk-gu, Daegu.
Marking its 23rd edition this year, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment is co-hosting the event with EXCO for the first time. The Korea Federation for Renewable Energy, the Korea New & Renewable Energy Association and others are organizing the event, which is supported by Daegu Metropolitan City and North Gyeongsang Province, and is being staged as a national energy industry event jointly led by the public and private sectors.
A total of 327 companies from 28 countries worldwide will install 1,011 booths, creating a venue expected to share the latest technologies in the global energy industry and generate tangible business outcomes. A large number of global companies in the solar and inverter sectors will participate to showcase next-generation innovative technologies.
In the solar cell and module sector, six of the world’s top 10 companies by production volume — Hanwha Solutions (Hanwha Qcells), JA Solar, Canadian Solar, Aiko, TW Solar and Jinko Solar — will participate to present next-generation high-efficiency cell and module technologies. In the inverter sector, nine of the global top 10 companies — Huawei, Solis, Growatt, Sofar Solar, Solplanet, Fox ESS, Sigen Energy, GoodWe and Kstar — will take part, completing a record-breaking lineup.
This year’s exhibition will feature an “Agrivoltaics Special Pavilion” for the first time. It will introduce a range of technologies and solutions that can simultaneously protect farmland and expand renewable energy. In addition, at the “Korea Renewable Energy Policy and Technology Innovation Roadmap Conference” hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, the roadmap for renewable energy technologies and policy directions for “sunlight income villages” will be presented.
The function of the event as a global business platform has also been significantly strengthened. At the “One-on-One Business Export Consultation Meeting,” which will be attended by overseas buyers from 101 countries, support will be provided to expand overseas networks for domestic companies and to develop new export markets. At the newly established “Large–SME Win-Win Cooperation Purchasing Consultation Meeting,” 30 public institutions will participate to identify innovative technologies of small and medium-sized enterprises and support them so that they can lead to actual purchasing contracts.
At the “International Future Energy Conference,” held during the event period, leading global scholars and business leaders will provide in-depth insights into the latest energy trends. “PV Market Insight (PVMI)” will run six sessions on 22 and 23 April under the theme “The Future of Solar Power for Balanced National Development and Energy Welfare.”
The “6th Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI)” will be held on 24 April under the theme “Opening the Future of Green Hydrogen and the Great Energy Transition,” presenting a blueprint for the hydrogen economy. Major international organizations such as the Global Carbon Council and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), along with domestic and overseas speakers, will discuss the future vision of the energy industry. Detailed information on the entire exhibition can be found on the dedicated website. Admission is free for those who register in advance.
