Chung Yong-jin, Chairman of Shinsegae Group, held a series of meetings from the 16th to the 18th (local time) with figures from the U.S. business community, including Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Shinsegae Group on the 21st, Chairman Chung met with Trump Jr. and the management of 1789 Capital at Mar-a-Lago Resort in Florida, United States. 1789 Capital is an investment firm in which Trump Jr. is involved. Chung discussed ways for Shinsegae Group to participate in a Florida Palm Beach development project led by 1789 Capital.

Earlier, on the 12th, Chung had departed for the United States to attend a dinner held at the vice president’s residence of Vice President J.D. Vance in Washington, D.C. The dinner was attended by Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

During this U.S. trip, Chung also met with David Ellison, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Paramount Skydance. With CEO Ellison, he reviewed the status of investment cooperation in Shinsegae Group’s Hwaseong International Theme Park and discussed product development utilizing Paramount intellectual property (IP).
