As the complexity of domestic industrial sites increases, equipment failures have become a major factor threatening corporate costs and safety. In this environment, the importance of 'RCA (Root Cause Analysis)' to identify the root causes of mechanical accidents is growing.
Pireta Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Hyun-seon) is a specialized RCA institution that has been precisely analyzing equipment failures, leaks, and various damages in power plants, refining and petrochemical plants, and general manufacturing facilities. The company announced plans to enhance its analysis system to improve safety and reliability in industrial sites.
The company has secured expert engineers in various fields such as materials science, solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and non-destructive testing. It operates a wide range of testing infrastructure, including high-magnification electron microscopes for metal structure analysis, high-temperature low-cycle fatigue testers, and high-temperature oxidation test equipment. Additionally, it plans to provide international-level analysis reliability to domestic industrial sites by securing multiple certification systems, including KOLAS (Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme).
Recently, there has been a rapid increase in demand for RCA of core equipment in high-difficulty energy facilities, such as high-temperature components of gas turbines for power generation, steam turbine blades, and wind turbine gearboxes. These facilities are mostly composed of expensive foreign equipment, and a single failure can result in losses amounting to hundreds of billions of KRW and long-term shutdown risks.
Pireta provides advanced RCA services by identifying accident mechanisms based on quantitative data such as metal fatigue crack growth characteristics, thermo-mechanical stress states, design margin deficiencies, and microstructural changes in the heat-affected zones of welds. When necessary, it technically proves potential errors in the design and manufacturing stages to help companies secure rightful compensation and asset preservation.

Pireta is recently expanding RCA-based diagnostics to online monitoring systems, shifting the industrial safety paradigm from 'post-accident cause analysis' to 'pre-accident prevention.' The company is developing platforms capable of real-time monitoring for major equipment such as steam turbine performance evaluation, boiler life prediction, and drive valve performance diagnosis. It plans to expand the application across power generation, refining, petrochemical, and industrial plants in the future.
CEO Choi Hyun-seon stated, "RCA is the most technical and structural safety device to prevent the recurrence of the same accident," and added, "We will expand the scope of analysis to high-difficulty energy facilities and establish a predictive maintenance system based on real-time monitoring to enhance the reliability and competitiveness of the entire industry."
