■ Kolon “APEC Biohealthcare Roadmap Formulated”

Kolon announced on the 27th that the Biohealthcare Working Group (BHWG) formulated a 'Smart and Inclusive Healthcare Roadmap' at the 4th meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council (ABAC) held in Busan. The BHWG was newly established this year, with Kolon Vice Chairman Lee Kyu-ho (pictured) serving as the chair. The roadmap includes public-private cooperation plans to address health issues within APEC, such as aging, the increase of chronic diseases, and disparities in medical accessibility. Vice Chairman Lee emphasized, “It is important to continue dialogue with healthcare policymakers after the roadmap is completed.”

Lotte Home Shopping announced on the 27th that it held the 'Lotte Brand Expo in Central Europe' in Vienna, Austria, from the 23rd to the 25th, in collaboration with KOTRA, to explore overseas markets for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Fifty outstanding domestic SMEs participated in the event, engaging in consultations with approximately 200 buyers from 76 European companies, including those from Germany, France, and Hungary, showcasing a variety of products such as beauty and food. According to Lotte Home Shopping, the event resulted in 575 export consultations, with a consultation amount reaching USD 49.9 million (approximately KRW 71.8 billion).

■ 30th Anniversary of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea “Leap to an Innovative Think Tank”

The National Academy of Engineering of Korea announced on the 27th that it will unveil its future vision as an 'Engineering Think Tank for Innovative Korea' on its 30th anniversary. The Academy plans to hold a 30th-anniversary ceremony on the 29th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and present its goal to become an engineering think tank that addresses the social, industrial, and technological challenges faced by the nation.
