Minigate Co., Ltd., supported by SK Hynix and the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency and organized by Seowon University, has launched a new specialized digital education content linked with the Chungcheongbuk-do region as part of the SPARK C-LAB project.
This content is developed based on Minigate's early childhood education metaverse platform 'Wittyverse' and is characterized by its experiential design that aligns the region's history and culture with the perspective of young children. It is expected that children in the Chungcheongbuk-do area will develop pride and attachment to their community and extend their learning to real-life experiences by sharing the information learned from the content with their families.
The newly released regional content is structured in the form of exploring administrative districts across the country through a 'hot air balloon journey' in the Wittyverse plaza activities. Children travel nationwide in a hot air balloon guided by NPCs, naturally encountering various cultures such as people, landmarks, and food from each region.
In the Chungcheongbuk-do section, symbolic elements of the region appear, including historical figure Song Si-yeol, traditional food Doribengbengi, and the representative landmark Nongdari. It is designed to allow children to feel familiar with the region and naturally increase their interest in the community through experiential learning that involves seeing, listening, and exploring rather than simply conveying knowledge.
A kindergarten in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, reported that children showed interest when the same landmark, Nongdari, appeared in Wittyverse after a recent field trip. A kindergarten official stated, "The children were thrilled to see Nongdari, which they had seen and crossed in person, appear in Wittyverse," adding, "The connection between the actual experience and digital content made their response much more enthusiastic."
The official further stated, "Our kindergarten plans to operate thematic education from November using Wittyverse's regional content to learn about people, food, and landmarks nationwide," adding, "Combining field experiences with digital learning is expected to deepen children's understanding and enhance the joy of learning."
A Wittyverse representative stated, "This regional content is designed to help children learn about the geography and culture of Korea through play and develop an attitude of respecting the lifestyles and values of various regions," adding, "With the launch of the Chungcheongbuk-do edition, the combination of region-based learning and digital experiential education has been initiated, and we plan to release the Chungcheongnam-do, Gangwon-do, and Jeollabuk-do editions and expand nationwide."
Wittyverse is a metaverse-based platform that provides immersive content linking play and learning organically, based on an intuitive UI/UX tailored to the level of young children. Children can naturally immerse themselves in learning through engaging activities such as AR dinosaur exploration, animal raising activities (live sketch), AR constellation experience, and job experiences, while also learning quality educational content in Korean, mathematics, English, science, and reading.
Wittyverse is being introduced in kindergartens nationwide through digital-leading projects, gaining attention as a digital early childhood education platform that integrates play and learning. Wittyverse plans to continue creating a learning environment where children can learn various values in the digital world and grow with interest and pride in their community.
