At overseas exhibitions and trade shows, AI real-time interpretation and translation services are attracting attention as a competitive tool that effectively alleviates the “time lag in communication and cost barriers” that constitute major obstacles to overseas expansion. In particular, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that find it burdensome to employ professional interpreters on a permanent basis, AI solutions are gaining importance as they not only fill staffing gaps but also provide real-time support for localization of product packaging and brochures.
Against this backdrop, UBG (Universe Brand Group, CEO Lee Jong-rin), a company specializing in exhibitions and trade shows, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on AI interpretation and translation services with Flitto (CEO Lee Jung-soo), a company specializing in AI data and real-time interpretation and translation solutions, to support the participation of domestic K-Beauty companies in exhibitions and trade shows in Japan.
This agreement was prepared to support domestic K-Beauty companies seeking to enter the Japanese market so that they can conduct buyer consultations, product presentations, and on-site communications more efficiently at local trade fairs. The two companies plan to cooperate closely to respond to the demand for real-time interpretation and multilingual translation that arises during participation in exhibitions in Japan.
Accordingly, UBG will promote measures to link AI-based language support services to the participation of K-Beauty companies it supports in Japanese exhibitions. In particular, using the “K-Beauty JAPAN SUMMIT 2026 2nd” as a starting point, UBG plans to apply Flitto’s AI real-time interpretation service to facilitate smooth communication between participating companies and local Japanese buyers, distribution officials, and visitors.
Flitto’s AI real-time interpretation service can be used in a wide range of multilingual communication scenarios that frequently occur at exhibition sites, such as face-to-face consultations, product explanations, and business meetings. It is expected to help participating companies improve their tangible exhibition performance, as even companies that find it difficult to secure dedicated professional interpreters can operate their booths more efficiently.
The two companies will also pursue cooperation on image translation services in addition to AI real-time interpretation. Image translation is a service that recognizes and translates text within image-based content such as product packages, brochures, and banners, enabling rapid localization of promotional materials and information leaflets needed at exhibition sites. Through this, participating companies will be able to convert and utilize product information materials and marketing content not only into Japanese but also into various other languages.
Through this agreement, UBG plans to lower language barriers for K-Beauty companies preparing to participate in exhibitions and trade shows in Japan, and to support the creation of substantive business outcomes. Going forward, it intends to expand AI-based language support services across a wide range of touchpoints throughout exhibition participation, including buyer consultations, visitor engagement, product information delivery, and localization of promotional materials.
