The Korea Environment Corporation, under the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, announced on the 28th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Water Resources Corporation at the Korea Environment Corporation's Yeouido training center to support the overseas expansion of the water industry.
This agreement was pursued to link the technological capabilities and human resources possessed by both institutions with the goal of promoting overseas expansion in the water industry sector.
The two organizations plan to jointly promote strategic entry into overseas water industry sectors, such as water supply and sewage projects; cooperate to support the overseas market entry of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises related to water; and expand technical and human exchanges for the overall development of the overseas environmental industry.
The Korea Environment Corporation was launched as an integrated organization in 2010. It performs public duties related to climate air, water soil, resource circulation, environmental facilities, and environmental health to promote environmental improvement, resource circulation, and respond to the climate crisis, thereby transitioning to a carbon-neutral society. In the water environment sector, it is responsible for policy support, technical review, operation of water quality monitoring networks, and support for the installation of water treatment facilities in areas such as wastewater, rivers, and groundwater.
Lim Sang-jun, President of the Korea Environment Corporation, stated, "Our country possesses high-level policies and technologies in the water environment sector," and added, "This memorandum of understanding will be a good opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of domestic water industry companies in overseas markets."
Meanwhile, recognizing the need to expand the global reach of the domestic environmental industry, the Korea Environment Corporation is operating the 'Green Reboot TF' to explore the export of Korea's environmental brand and the overseas expansion of facility projects.
