Ferrari is introducing advanced OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels for its next-generation models through a collaboration with Samsung Display. On the 16th, Ferrari and Samsung Display announced that they had formalized a partnership to develop innovative displays and expressed their intention to jointly drive technological evolution.
The OLED panels to be supplied by Samsung Display are said to feature an ultra-thin bezel structure, accurate black reproduction, and deep contrast ratio (contrast between bright and dark areas). They are expected to enhance the overall design quality of vehicle interiors while providing a significantly improved driving environment.
Ernesto Lasalandra, Head of Research and Development at Ferrari, commented on Samsung Display’s technological capabilities, saying, “Its know-how in designing thin and lightweight OLED structures has been a great help in developing Ferrari’s next-generation digital interiors. In the luxury market, the passenger experience is key, and this collaboration will be an important turning point in realizing customer-tailored displays.”

Park Jin-woo, Managing Director of the European Business Team at Samsung Display, said, “This partnership is a symbolic milestone where the technological strengths of both companies meet. Ferrari is globally synonymous with high-performance sports cars and symbolizes innovation and passion. Samsung Display is likewise leading next-generation display technologies through continuous research and development.”
Regarding the background to the collaboration between the two companies, Park added, “Although we operate in different industries, we share a mindset of challenging limits and setting new benchmarks. Through this synergy, we will be able to achieve both differentiated user experiences and technological advancement.”
Lasalandra noted that this project is a good example of the major transformation trends in the automotive industry, namely digitalization, user experience (UX), and premiumization. He said, “By using OLEDs, flexible and customized display layouts become possible, enabling the creation of personalized interfaces for drivers and passengers.”
Samsung Display expects this collaboration to serve as an opportunity to accumulate experience and extend its technological capabilities. Park emphasized, “Electrification, SDVs (Software Defined Vehicles), and AI technology are redefining the concept of the automobile. Vehicles are now evolving beyond mere means of transportation into immersive environments. At the center of this change is the display.”
He also said, “The core value of Samsung OLED can be summarized as ‘DRIVE’, which stands for Design Differentiation, Robust Reliability, Intelligent Safety, Visual Excellence, and Expandability.”
Park stressed, “By combining Ferrari’s vision with Samsung Display’s technology, a new era of in-vehicle experience can be opened. The innovations that the two companies will create together will develop in a direction that delivers tangible value to consumers.”
