AI Solutions Unveiled at K-Tech Showcase
SK Group plans to leverage the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, opening on the 31st in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, to showcase South Korea's competitive edge in future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, while pursuing global cooperation. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, who serves as the chair of the APEC CEO Summit, along with group executives and employees, are focusing their efforts on ensuring the successful hosting of APEC.
SK Group will lead the AI theme at the Future Tech Forum, a side event of the CEO Summit. The Future Tech Forum, held from the 27th to the 30th of this month, will highlight South Korea's capabilities in six future industries, including AI, shipbuilding, defense, distribution, virtual assets, and future energy. SK Group will oversee the 'Future Tech Forum AI' under the theme of 'National AI Ecosystem.'
On the 28th, at the Future Tech Forum AI held at Munmu Hall in Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, Ha Jung-woo, Senior Secretary for AI Future Planning at the Presidential Office, will present 'Korea's Strategy and Experience to Become a Top 3 AI Power.'
Additionally, Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, Kim Kyung-hoon, Head of OpenAI Korea, and global AI scholar Professor Choi Ye-jin from Stanford University's Human-Centered AI Institute will exchange views on the future of the AI ecosystem. Chairman Chey Tae-won, also the chair of the CEO Summit, is expected to propose strategies for establishing a sustainable AI ecosystem in Asia-Pacific countries during his keynote speech.
On the same day, the 'K-Tech Showcase' will be held at the outdoor special venue of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park. In this exhibition, which presents future technologies from major Korean companies, SK Group will introduce the 'AI Data Center Solution,' which consolidates the AI capabilities of SK Hynix, SK Telecom, SKC, and SK Enmove.
SK Group is consolidating its capabilities to ensure the successful hosting of APEC. Chairman Chey is visiting the United States, Japan, China, and other countries to engage with local political and business leaders, encouraging participation in APEC and the CEO Summit. An SK Group representative stated, "We hope that the APEC Summit, held in Korea for the first time in 20 years, will serve as an opportunity to explore sustainable development for Korea and the international community."
