The structured data foundation model (TFM) developer Numz AI (CEO Yoo Jae-min) announced on the 16th that it has unveiled its proprietary model “Causilo” and that the model ranked first overall in a global benchmark. The company, founded this year, has demonstrated world-class predictive performance in its first year of establishment.

Structured data refers to table-type data organized into rows and columns, such as sales records, transaction histories, and customer information. AI that predicts based on such data plays a core role in corporate decision-making, for example by identifying the likelihood of customer churn or forecasting product sales volumes.
Causilo ranked first in both the overall category and in the classification and regression (numerical prediction) categories on the global structured data AI evaluation platform “TabArena.” It outperformed models from global companies including Google Research (TabFM), Amazon (Mitra-v2), and Xiaomi (Xiaomi-TabLDM). In an evaluation conducted on 51 numerical datasets, it led in both accuracy and prediction speed, and the same level of performance was confirmed when the TabArena operations team retested it in a separate environment.
Causilo works immediately on prediction tasks for any dataset without additional tuning or retraining. For companies, this significantly reduces the burden, as they can use a pre-trained model right away instead of having to retrain AI from scratch each time. Just as large language models (LLMs) understand sentences, Causilo effectively understands patterns in numerical tables.

The company was founded by five graduates of Seoul National University and KAIST, led by Yoo Jae-min, an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, who is a Google PhD Fellowship recipient in machine learning and was appointed as an assistant professor at KAIST at the age of 29. Structured data AI is an area where competition among global companies is intensifying, with Google and LG having released their own models and SAP acquiring a specialist company.
The company has released Causilo’s code and pre-trained model weights so that researchers and developers can directly use them. A separate license applies to commercial use.
CEO Yoo Jae-min said, “This achievement in our first year of founding demonstrates that the expertise and development capabilities of our research team, which has focused on structured data AI, are at the highest level on the global stage,” adding, “We will connect this technology to prediction and decision-making in real-world business environments and grow into a world-class structured data AI company.”
