Alzheimer’s disease treatment research and development company Memories Healthcare Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Eun-woo) announced that it has filed a composition patent in Europe for its Alzheimer’s treatment candidate “MH001.”

The European patent filed this time (Application No.: EP26192980.6) is titled “Herbal Extract Composition for Preventing or Treating Alzheimer Disease.” Following Korea and the United States, the company is in the process of securing overseas intellectual property rights, and plans to advance the identification of candidate substances based on complex herbal components, cognitive function assessment, imaging data, and the accumulation of other clinical-related data.

The company also established a subsidiary, “Memories Clinic Co., Ltd.,” which will be responsible for supporting clinical research and long-term patient follow-up. Memories Clinic plans to build a patient registry system to record clinical progress and provide research information through a dedicated channel.

A company official stated, “Since its establishment in 2013, the company has been accumulating patient observation data, and it recently submitted a case report paper conducted with a research team at Yonsei University College of Medicine.”

Lee Eun-woo, CEO of Memories Healthcare, said, “We are focusing on the accumulation of objective data and verification by independent research teams,” adding, “We will use the overseas patent filing as a springboard to explore collaboration opportunities with domestic and international research institutions.”

Meanwhile, a patent application is a filing procedure to secure rights to a technology, and does not signify final registration by the patent office, verification of a drug’s medical efficacy or safety, or approval of a pharmaceutical product license.
