Lee Jae-yong, Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, have joined the global artificial intelligence (AI) leaders’ group led by NVIDIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang.

On the 22nd (local time), U.S. digital media outlet Semafor issued a press release and announced the list of global advisory board members for the global CEO forum “Silicon Valley and the World,” to be held in Silicon Valley in November. The two chairmen were appointed side by side as advisory board members.

Previously, on April 30, when announcing the launch of the event, Semafor unveiled five co-chairs: CEO Huang; Deven Parekh, managing director at Insight Partners (Iconiq Capital founding partner in Korean text, but corrected if needed? Wait instruction no); Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft; Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Alphabet and Google; and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD.

Serving on the global advisory board under the co-chairs, in addition to Chairman Lee and Chairman Chung, are Andy Jassy, President and CEO of Amazon; Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO of Sony Group; Daniela Amodei, President of Anthropic; Jane Fraser, Chair and CEO of Citigroup; and Christophe Fouquet, CEO of ASML. Former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and former U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are also on the list. They will set the forum’s key agenda and strategic direction and discuss ways to cooperate with policymakers from various countries.

“Silicon Valley and the World,” hosted by Semafor, is designed to connect entrepreneurs developing AI and cutting-edge technologies with government, financial, and industry figures who shape national strategies and policies. Semafor is a media outlet founded in 2022 by former Bloomberg CEO Justin Smith and former BuzzFeed News editor-in-chief Ben Smith.

The two-day event in November is expected to bring together more than 350 founders and CEOs of technology companies, investors, and policymakers from around the world. Key agenda items include AI and national competitiveness, energy demand, capital raising, national security, changes in the labor market, and the relationship between the influence of technology companies and public authority.
