AI-based smart factory solution company EMFOCUS Co., Ltd. has received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in the AI Technology Innovation category at the “2026 Korea Industry Awards.”

The basis for EMFOCUS’s award is clear. It enabled genuine smartization for domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, which had relied on expensive foreign-made solutions, by using homegrown technology.

The company independently developed MES, QMS, WMS, and SCM platforms that integrate production, logistics, quality, and equipment information on manufacturing sites, and supplied them to on-site innovators including Hyundai Motor and Kia partner auto parts manufacturers, semiconductor producers such as Magnachip Semiconductor and LX Semicon, and secondary battery material companies such as L&F.

In particular, it localized the globally standardized failure analysis tool FMEA, which had a high dependence on foreign products, and supplies it at a cost about 60% lower than imports, dramatically improving small and medium-sized enterprises’ access to quality innovation.

The company has also entered overseas markets including Mexico, China, and Southeast Asia, proving its global competitiveness, and is securing technological leadership through the commercialization of AI-based predictive maintenance and digital twin solutions as well as research on manufacturing intelligence applying a Vision-Language Model (VLM). The impact across the industry is significant, as it has built a domestic ecosystem that enables small and medium-sized manufacturers to achieve digital transformation on their own.
