Immersive content production company Bauer Lab announced on the 13th that it signed a strategic Korean Wave (Hallyu) content memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global “entertech” company BIGC on January 10 for the development of concert and music festival content in Dubai.
Through this agreement, Bauer Lab’s next-generation immersive LED dome platform technology will be combined with BIGC’s capabilities in global concert production and digital distribution. The two companies plan to jointly build a performance and content distribution model that goes beyond offline shows.
Bauer Lab operates an immersive content and space platform that encompasses performances, exhibitions, XR, and media art, based on ORBYT, Korea’s first LED dome theater brand.
ORBYT is a next-generation theater model that adds spatial audio and real-time transmission technology to an ultra-high-resolution LED dome structure. It is an integrated platform capable of hosting actual concerts, virtual performances, hybrid live shows, and archive-type content screenings.
Bauer Lab has a platform environment that enables continuous operation and transmission of content regardless of whether performances are being held. Under this agreement, performance content based on IP produced by BIGC will be mounted on the ORBYT platform, securing a high-quality content lineup. The companies have created a basis for meeting viewing needs among global K-culture demand segments and transforming performance content into assets that can be expanded and redistributed.
BIGC is a global entertech company with 1.3 million members in 230 countries worldwide. It is the first in the industry to advocate an “All-in-one Digital Venue” and aims to maximize concert value.
The company has integrated technological capabilities that cover everything from concert planning to post-event fan experience, including ticket reservation service “BIGC PASS,” AI live streaming, fan communication, and commerce. It is recognized for its competitiveness in the global concert market by possessing both know-how in stage production and technical operation for large-scale K-pop live performances and capabilities in digital platforms.
Through this collaboration, BIGC will expand online and offline content from K-pop and K-culture artists into LED domes as a new distribution channel, while Bauer Lab will advance the content ecosystem as a platform operator.
The two companies plan to present a collaboration model between performance production companies and space/platform operators and to build a win-win structure that extends the temporal and spatial limits of the concert industry.
Going forward, the companies plan to jointly plan virtual live and archive content linked to actual performances and use them as core content for ORBYT LED dome theaters.
A Bauer Lab official said, “This agreement marks the starting point for transforming concerts from one-off events into content assets that can be continuously expanded and distributed,” adding, “The combination of BIGC’s global entertech capabilities and ORBYT’s immersive platform technology will create a new performance experience.”
