As the curtain rose on Samsung Electronics’ “The First Look” event held one day before the official opening of “CES 2026,” cheers erupted repeatedly from among more than 6,000 media and industry officials gathered from around the world. The latest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and new products immediately applicable to everyday life, unveiled on a large screen at the front of the stage, continuously captured the attention of the audience.
Amid intensifying checks from competitors in recent months, Samsung Electronics devoted significant effort to preparing this event. Among approximately 3,000 participating companies at this year’s CES, it was the first to hold an event, drawing strong attention, and 15 senior executives and technology leaders personally took the stage during the one-hour press conference to present technologies and strategies, meeting expectations on site.
The core message Samsung Electronics emphasized at The First Look was “Your Companion to AI Living.” It laid out concrete execution strategies on how AI will permeate everyday life.
Noh Tae-moon, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics (Head of DX Division), who opened the event, stated, “Samsung Electronics will apply AI across all of its products and services to provide customers with meaningful AI experiences,” adding, “We will become an AI companion in customers’ daily lives and lead the ‘popularization of AI experiences.’”
Samsung Electronics plans to expand customer choice through open collaboration and to maximize service efficiency by organically combining on-device AI with cloud AI. In addition, by strengthening AI interfaces such as SmartThings, One UI, and Now Brief, the company aims to provide an integrated and consistent user experience. It also presented a strategy to enhance trust in AI through a robust security framework based on Samsung Knox.

Samsung Electronics demonstrated its AI platform “Vision AI Companion” through the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV unveiled that day. When the large screen showed how the platform understands the context of user questions to provide content information and automatically adjusts picture and sound quality to suit the viewing environment, the audience reacted with exclamations. Samsung Electronics defined this as an “entertainment companion that goes beyond convenience to deliver comfort.” The company plans to introduce a lineup of Micro RGB TV models in 2026 in various sizes ranging from 55 inches to 100 inches.
AI to Liberate HouseworkDuring the segment introducing the home appliance strategy, Kim Cheol-gi, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Appliances (DA) Division at Samsung Electronics, underscored the “Home Companion” vision. He said, “The strengths of Samsung Electronics’ AI home appliances lie in an overwhelming connected ecosystem, form factors optimized for interaction with users, and reliability that allows long-term, trusted use,” adding, “Through this, we will make the long-standing aspiration of the 100-year home appliance industry—‘liberation from housework’—a reality.”
Samsung’s AI home appliances operate around the smart home platform “SmartThings.” SmartThings currently connects more than 430 million users worldwide and over 4,700 types of devices, forming a vast ecosystem.
Details were also provided on the 2026 “Bespoke AI Family Hub” refrigerator. This refrigerator is the first home appliance to be equipped with Google’s latest AI model “Gemini,” significantly expanding the range of food recognition. Samsung Electronics plans to further extend AI functions to washing machines, cooking appliances and others in the future.
AI Ecosystem Expanding to HealthcareSamsung Electronics also presented a vision to provide “intelligent care” experiences by integrating AI across its entire ecosystem, from mobile devices to TVs and home appliances. “Samsung Health” will comprehensively analyze users’ sleep, nutrition, and physical activity data to identify potential signs of chronic diseases and will propose tailored recipes utilizing ingredients in the refrigerator, along with exercise and sleep coaching.
If abnormal signs are detected, the company plans to enable users to receive professional consultations by linking with the “Xealth” platform, which connects to medical staff. In addition, at this event Samsung for the first time unveiled brain health-related technologies that detect cognitive decline by analyzing biometric signals and behavioral patterns—such as sleep records, walking speed, and finger movements—through mobile and wearable devices.??
