NextK announced on the 8th that it has developed a technology for automatic subtitle generation and high-precision translation using generative AI (artificial intelligence) and will officially introduce it to the domestic video content market.

NextK is a company that provides various services and builds platforms through intelligent video analysis based on its proprietary algorithms. By integrating with mobile mobility such as robots and drones, it minimizes the blind spots of fixed cameras and increases the accuracy of event detection, enabling rapid response to incidents and accidents. The company has introduced a mobile mobility platform to the domestic market.

This technology was selected as a project in the '2025 Win-Win Open Innovation Production Support Project' organized by the Gyeonggi Content Agency and was implemented through collaboration with its partner, LG Uplus. The two companies collaborated to achieve practical production site efficiency through the advancement of AI-based video content production functions. The Gyeonggi Content Agency supports collaboration projects with companies to enable startups to utilize their capabilities in the actual market through the Win-Win Open Innovation Project.

The system developed by NextK provides an advanced translation process after video upload. It includes ▲user review based on web search ▲context control translation where users directly input and reflect character traits and relationships ▲context analysis of entire subtitles and scenes using large language models (LLM) ▲unified processing of specific character names and proper nouns to ensure translation consistency ▲retranslation function through prompt instructions by selecting individual items when translation results are insufficient. This significantly reduces frequent terminology inconsistencies and contextual errors in existing AI automatic translations. A representative from NextK stated, "In the video content production process, repetitive and mechanical tasks such as subtitle work take up a very large proportion," and added, "We aim to create an environment where creators can focus more on their original creativity and the qualitative completeness of content by drastically reducing the time for basic tasks with AI."

NextK plans to officially apply this subtitle feature to the content production platform 'STUDIO X+U' in collaboration with LG Uplus by the first half of 2026. It also plans to expand its service area to various video platforms such as real-time simultaneous interpretation and live streaming in the future.
