Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on the 11th that it received the grand prize at the '1st Korea AI Innovation Awards' ceremony held at the National Assembly Museum on the 10th. This award was established to encourage human-centered AI innovation and responsible technology utilization, co-hosted and organized by the Korea AI Innovation Awards Committee, the International Future Society, and the Electronic Times, with support from major government ministries.

Daewoo E&C was recognized for its contributions to establishing a smart construction collaboration system incorporating AI, including the ▲Global Communication Support Tool 'BaroLetter AI' ▲AI-based contract document analysis solution 'BaroAnswer AI' ▲BIM (Building Information Modeling) design and construction system ▲Drone and IoT-based site safety monitoring ▲OSC (Off-Site Construction) technology.

In March of this year, Daewoo E&C officially launched the in-house consultative body 'Daewoo Smart Construction Alliance.' This organization aims to consolidate smart construction technologies developed across all business sectors, including housing, architecture, civil engineering, and plants, and broadly apply them on-site.

Subsequently, in November, it was selected as the '3rd Chairman Company of the Smart Construction Alliance,' taking a central role in creating a smart construction ecosystem led by private companies.

Daewoo E&C plans to actively introduce AI-based smart construction technology at major sites. By enhancing construction quality and automating and digitizing the process management, it aims to improve productivity and efficiency, thereby accelerating the digital transformation of the construction industry as a whole.

Additionally, through a recent organizational restructuring, it established the 'AX Data Team (AI Transformation)' responsible for formulating company-wide AI strategies and building a data platform. Daewoo E&C intends to expand its smart construction-related organization and workforce and focus on technology development and strengthening AI capabilities to secure new growth engines.

A representative from Daewoo E&C stated, "This award is a meaningful achievement that confirms Daewoo E&C's status as a national representative company for AI innovation in the construction industry," adding, "We will lead the smart construction field through the advancement of the AI platform and the expansion of industry-academia-public cooperation."
