The Seoul Business Agency (SBA) organized the '2025 BIXPO Super Gap Open Innovation Meetup' on November 7 as part of the Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project Open Innovation Initiative. This event, held at the Korea Electric Power Corporation's Energy Technology Expo (BIXPO), provided a platform for promising startups to meet with large corporations and public enterprises.

The SBA's Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project Open Innovation Initiative selects promising startups researching ten super gap technologies (system semiconductors, bio and health, future mobility, eco-friendly and energy, robotics, big data and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and networks, aerospace and marine, next-generation nuclear power, and quantum technology) and connects them with large and medium-sized enterprises to foster mutual growth. This initiative aims to create synergy by combining the technological capabilities and execution power of startups with the infrastructure and capacity of large and medium-sized enterprises.

BIXPO, organized by the Korea Electric Power Corporation since 2015, showcases new technologies leading the global energy new industry. From 2024, it expanded its scope to include energy-related technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and batteries. The 2024 event attracted 152 companies from Korea and abroad, gathering around 22,000 industry stakeholders.


The 2025 BIXPO Super Gap Open Innovation Meetup was held at the Gwangju Kimdaejung Convention Center's 2nd-floor convention hall. SBA facilitated the sharing of technologies of interest to large and public enterprises and the core technologies of super gap startups, arranging bilateral matching and meetings based on this information.

SBA introduced 29 startups from six super gap technology sectors that meet the demand of large and public enterprises at the meetup. These include ▲Energy (Cabin Lab, ATB Lab, Cloud&Co, Rumplear, Enerchi Energy, Lambda Micro, Raven Materials, VPPLab) ▲Artificial Intelligence (Twigfarm, Tanalysis, Shareflat, Adialab, Brose, Enerzai, Nota, Sagak) ▲Future Mobility (DeltaX, Mobawheel, Korea Simulator, Forescore, Mona, Starcorp, Viewrun Technology) ▲Eco-friendly (Newrizon, Humaster, EUCNC, Abrams) ▲Next-generation Nuclear Power (Sanglim MSP) ▲Aerospace (GTAerospace).

SBA established a cooperation program between the Korea Electric Power Corporation and technology commercialization agencies. It provided opportunities for collaboration on energy-related technology projects with major domestic large, public, and medium-sized enterprises and super gap startups, including PoC (Proof of Concept) cooperation. The event also shared the development history of energy new industry technologies and global market trends to help participants formulate commercialization strategies. Networking and meetings were also organized as part of the event.

Baek Sun-ho, CEO of participating startup Twigfarm, stated, "This was an opportunity to share Twigfarm's vision of breaking down language and cultural barriers through AI translation, dubbing, and video production, and to explore collaboration possibilities and expand partnerships with various large and public enterprises. Thanks to SBA's facilitation of focused discussions and in-depth meetings, several follow-up meetings have been arranged. This event is expected to be a significant turning point leading to substantial partnerships beyond simple networking between companies."

Park Kyung-rak, team leader of the SBA Super Gap Startup 1000+ Open Innovation Initiative, remarked, "It is meaningful to participate in BIXPO, an event that has led the development of Korea's energy industry, to introduce capable super gap startups to the market and facilitate open innovation with large and public enterprises. SBA will do its utmost to create follow-up outcomes such as the development of the energy new industry, commercialization, and scale-up of super gap startups."
