The cruise ship, referred to as a 'hotel on the sea,' will be operated at Pohang Yeongilman Port for attendees of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries on the 27th, two cruise ships with a total of 1,100 rooms, chartered by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will serve as accommodation for approximately 1,000 participants of the CEO Summit, a side event of the APEC Summit. The operation period is from the 28th to the 1st of the following month.

One of the cruise ships, the 'Eastern Venus,' will be used for Japanese guests. It is 183 meters long, weighs 26,594 tons, and has 250 rooms. The other cruise ship, the 'Piano Land,' is 261 meters long, weighs 69,840 tons, and has 850 rooms, and will be used for Chinese guests. Both vessels are known to be of a five-star hotel standard.

The government plans to establish a 'Counter-Terrorism Safety Situation Room' in cooperation with related ministries to respond to emergencies. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will inspect the landscaping within the pier and the installation status of safety facilities. It has also decided to partially reduce the port facility usage fees for the docking cruise ships. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that this event contributes to strengthening regional economic cooperation."
