RM (real name Kim Nam-joon, 31), the leader of BTS, will deliver a keynote speech at the 'APEC CEO Summit,' a side event of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

RM is scheduled to speak for about 10 minutes on the topic of 'The Cultural Creative Industry in the APEC Region and the Soft Power of K-Culture' at 3:05 PM on the second day of the APEC CEO Summit, October 29.

The APEC CEO Summit, held over three days from October 28 to 31, is an annual business forum attended by heads of state and business leaders from member countries. RM is the first K-pop artist to deliver a keynote speech at this event. Drawing on his experience promoting K-pop in the United States and elsewhere as BTS's leader, RM is expected to discuss various aspects of Korean culture. The specific content of his speech has not been disclosed.

In 2018, RM gained global attention when he spoke on behalf of BTS at the UNICEF Youth Agenda event, a special agency under the United Nations (UN). In his approximately seven-minute speech, he conveyed the message, "No matter who you are, where you're from, or your skin color, tell your story. Find your voice." BTS also delivered speeches at the UN in 2020 and 2021, serving as 'cultural envoys.'

This year's summit is themed 'Beyond, Business, Bridge.' It will be attended by 16 heads of state-level representatives from APEC's 21 member countries and over 1,700 global business CEOs.
