LG Group is providing comprehensive support for the successful hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to be held in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, at the end of this month. LG plans to explore new business opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), data centers, and other areas during this APEC, which will be attended by heads of state and business leaders from various countries.

LG signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for APEC Summit Promotion Cooperation' with the APEC Summit Preparation Planning Team at the end of August and has been continuously conducting promotional activities domestically and internationally.

APEC official promotional videos are being broadcast on seven large electronic billboards in major areas with high foot traffic, such as Gwanghwamun, City Hall, Myeongdong, Hongdae Entrance Station, Gangnam COEX, and Parnas Hotel in Seoul. The same promotional videos are also being shown on large electronic billboards at global landmarks such as Times Square in New York, USA, and Piccadilly Circus in London, UK, to promote the Gyeongju APEC.

Since the 30th of last month, LG has been running APEC wrapping advertisements on 70 Gyeongju city buses. These buses, wrapped in advertisements, have been serving as APEC ambassadors, traveling throughout the city, including major Gyeongju landmarks such as Cheomseongdae, Cheonmachong, Hwangridan-gil, and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.

Each affiliate, including LG Corp. and LG Electronics, will host the '2025 Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (GITC)' as a side event during the APEC Summit. This international information technology (IT) competition supports the improvement of digital literacy among youth with disabilities, aiding their advancement into education, employment, and other societal sectors. It is the only event related to disabilities among the APEC side events. Additionally, LG Electronics is expected to meet with major global business leaders participating in this APEC event to strengthen business cooperation in advanced fields such as AI and data centers. LG Electronics is expanding its business with cooling solutions that address the heat generation of data centers as a new growth driver.

LG Household & Health Care will support the event with 96,000 bottles of 'Ullim Water,' a drinking water from Ulleungdo. LG Uplus is preparing for the large crowds by installing additional communication devices at major facilities around Gyeongju and operating a dedicated situation room. It will also provide free public Wi-Fi and mobile vehicle base stations at major event locations such as Hwangryongwon. An LG representative stated, "The APEC Summit is a great opportunity to promote LG to leaders and dignitaries from around the world," and added, "We will contribute to its successful hosting."
