Samsung Electronics is set to unveil its innovative IT device, the 'Tri-Fold Phone', which folds twice, for the first time at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on October 31. Samsung Electronics plans to host its own network event to collaborate with global business leaders.

Samsung Electronics will participate in the 'K-Tech' showcase, a side event of the APEC Summit. The exhibition, held at the Gyeongju Expo Park Airdome from October 28 to 31, will focus on IT devices. The first public display of the Tri-Fold Phone, scheduled for release next month, is expected to draw significant attention. The Tri-Fold Phone represents Samsung Electronics' next-generation innovative mobile product, evolving beyond the single-fold foldable phone. When unfolded, it becomes a large screen approximately 10 inches, similar to a tablet, which is 2 inches larger than the Galaxy Z Fold (8 inches) released in July.

Amidst the intense global competition in the foldable phone market, Samsung Electronics has decided to debut the Tri-Fold Phone at APEC, attended by numerous global business leaders. This decision is interpreted as a demonstration of the company's confidence in its technological capabilities. Given the global attention, the promotional impact is also expected to be significant.

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning its own network event targeting global business leaders. In addition to domestic business figures, major big tech CEOs are expected to participate in this APEC. As global collaboration among big tech companies is actively progressing, attention is focused on whether Samsung Electronics' global network management will shine once again.

Indeed, Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, has been achieving results by actively engaging with global big tech CEOs, leading to large-scale orders. In late July, Samsung Electronics received a foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) order worth KRW 23 trillion for the next-generation AI semiconductor 'AI6' from global electric vehicle company Tesla. It also signed a letter of intent (LOI) for cooperation in building AI infrastructure with OpenAI.
