Odor removal specialist MC Lab recently announced that it has registered a patent for 'Composition for Cleaning, Sterilizing, and Deodorizing and Its Manufacturing Method' (Registration No. 102856749). This patented technology is characterized by the use of non-toxic and low-irritation ingredients to decompose and deactivate odor molecules.

MC Lab has long analyzed the issues with commercial deodorizers. It concluded that most products relied on strong petrochemical components, artificial fragrances, ethanol, and surfactants to mask odors, often containing allergy-inducing substances. In response, MC Lab focused on developing technology that directly decomposes the root causes of contamination and odor by applying its patented decomposition principle.

The sodium metasilicate-based patented technology developed by MC Lab chemically adsorbs and captures odor molecules, such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and trimethylamine, which are the main culprits of household odors, and then decomposes them. According to MC Lab, external testing institutions verified that the technology achieved 99.9% sterilization of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus and removed more than 99% of household odors.

In terms of safety, comprehensive verification has been completed. MC Lab confirmed safety through human skin patch tests, oral toxicity tests, onion experiments, and tests for 26 types of allergy-inducing substances, and stated that harmful petrochemical components such as ethanol, artificial fragrances, and surfactants were not added.

An MC Lab representative emphasized, "This patent registration is an important achievement that scientifically proves our company's brand philosophy of 'safe yet powerful deodorization,'" adding, "We will continue to introduce products applying this patented technology in various fields such as homes, cars, and commercial spaces to fundamentally solve odor problems in daily life."
