Model Solution, an affiliate of Hankook & Company Group, will develop next-generation surgical robot hardware in partnership with medical robotics specialist Roen Surgical.

Model Solution announced that on the 26th it signed a “business agreement for cooperation on next-generation medical robots” with Roen Surgical. The two companies will pursue related product development by combining Roen Surgical’s flexible surgical robot technology with Model Solution’s hardware development and precision manufacturing capabilities.

They first agreed to cooperate in hardware development, including exterior design, color, material and finish (CMF) planning, and precision prototype production. From the initial stages of product planning and design, they will examine mass-production feasibility, with a focus on reducing trial and error such as design changes during future commercialization processes.

Roen Surgical is a surgical robot company developing flexible surgical robots that utilize internal bodily pathways. Its artificial intelligence (AI)-based kidney stone surgery robot “Xamenix” has been designated as the 17th innovative medical device in Korea. Xamenix has also obtained 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

For surgical robots, ergonomic design, hygiene management, and stable production quality are critical. Model Solution will leverage its hardware development experience with global companies and startups, as well as its precision manufacturing infrastructure, in this collaboration.

Model Solution holds certification under ISO 13485, the international standard for medical device quality management systems, and operates Class 7-level cleanroom production facilities and manufacturing and quality control systems. .
