Lotte Innovate is set to expand its data center business by using operation of the Ansan Global Cloud Center (GCC) and entry into the Vietnamese market as the two wheels of its growth strategy.

Lotte Innovate has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with IT infrastructure specialist ITCEN CTS for stable network management of the Ansan GCC and future collaboration in the data center sector.

The partnership aims to combine professional engineers and IT infrastructure capabilities to ensure smooth execution of the outsourced operation of the Ansan GCC, which Lotte Innovate has secured, and to enable joint responses ahead of bids for large-scale data centers in the future.

The Ansan GCC is a data hub of about 40 megawatts (MW) to be built in the Ansan area of Gyeonggi Province, with completion targeted for 2027. Lotte Innovate has signed a five-year outsourcing contract with Aegis Asset Management to oversee facility management, while ITCEN CTS will establish a cooperative framework by providing operational personnel support and enhancing system technologies.

Starting from this project, the two companies plan to pursue joint sales and marketing in both hyperscale and distributed (edge) data center segments to explore new contract opportunities.

At the same time, the company is accelerating its exploration of overseas markets. On 13 October, it signed an agreement with Vietnam’s leading IT company, CMC Group, to jointly promote the construction and operation of a hyperscale data center. The plan is to combine domestically proven design-build-operate (DBO) capabilities with CMC Group’s local infrastructure to target the Southeast Asian market.

Its domestic order backlog is also steadily increasing. In December last year, the company secured the outsourced operation of the KAM Square Data Center, followed by winning Aegis Asset Management’s edge data center DBO project in February this year, and most recently obtaining the management rights for the Ansan GCC.

Lotte Innovate, which has 20 years of experience in managing data centers, has built an operational system capable of handling data infrastructure of various scales. Its strategy is to maximize expertise in managing large domestic hubs while establishing footholds for expansion overseas through partnerships with local companies.

A Lotte Innovate official stated, “With the expansion of the artificial intelligence and cloud markets, data centers have emerged as core infrastructure. Based on the technological know-how accumulated in Korea, we will increase overseas partnerships and foster data centers as a future growth engine.”
