Significantly reduced minimum order quantity to 1,000 sets through AI-based process optimization
Built a flexible system to handle multiple dosage forms, from refined products to jelly sticks
PBH has been selected for the “Innovation Company of the Year” award in the health functional food sector and, building on this, is officially launching a small-lot production system incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The service uses AI to calculate production volume and optimize processes, reducing the minimum order quantity (MOQ) to the level of 1,000 sets.
PBH has finely refined its processes so that even small volumes of around 30,000 tablets, capsules, pills, and similar forms can be produced efficiently. In the past, mass production was inevitable due to manufacturing cost and productivity issues. However, by introducing an AI calculation algorithm that precisely analyzes raw material input quantities, yield, loss rates by process, and equipment operating conditions from multiple angles, the company has derived optimal settings for small-batch manufacturing.
The company is expanding the application of its AI process optimization technology, which has already been validated in tablet production, to various dosage forms including powder, granules (small pills), liquid sticks, and jelly sticks. By breaking down and analyzing the differing mixing, filling, and packaging factors for each dosage form using AI, PBH has established a manufacturing environment capable of producing a wide variety of dosage forms starting from small volumes.
As demand grows in the health food market for producing many different product types in small quantities, PBH is transplanting to the production floor a system that comprehensively considers raw material composition and blending ratios, dosage form characteristics, and packaging conditions to design the most suitable production volumes and parameters.
Through this, PBH plans to sequentially introduce a total of 12 product lines, focusing on areas that attract strong consumer interest such as weight management, skin improvement, osteoporosis prevention, and blood sugar control. Each product will be designed in the optimal dosage form according to the inherent characteristics of its raw materials, convenience of intake, and target customer segment.
This system build-out offers an alternative for companies seeking to test new brands while reducing the burden of initial production costs. They can first enter the market with a small quantity and then pursue additional manufacturing or product line expansion in response to market feedback.
A PBH representative stated that, using the Innovation Company of the Year award as a springboard, the company is driving tangible service changes on the manufacturing floor beyond simple planning, and will continue to advance its AI process system to lower the entry barriers to the health food market. The representative added that PBH will spare no effort in supporting start-ups entering the market for the first time and brands seeking to validate the marketability of new products so they can launch products while minimizing risk.
