Sub One announced on the 25th that it has become the first in the industry to obtain certification for the aerospace quality management system “AS/EN 9120,” established by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG).

AS/EN 9120 is an international quality management standard within the AS/EN 9100 series used in the aviation, space and defense sectors, specialized in the procurement, storage, distribution and supply chain management of aerospace parts and materials. According to Sub One, key management items include parts traceability, prevention of counterfeit products, supply chain risk management, and quality assurance systems.

The core of this certification is that Sub One has been recognized as meeting international standards in quality control and supply chain management capabilities required in the aviation, space and defense sectors. In the aerospace and defense industries, management systems that track the origin and distribution history of parts and materials and block counterfeit or nonconforming products are critically important.

Through this certification, Sub One reported that it has established relevant quality management systems, including traceability management of product and transaction information, management of nonconforming and suspected counterfeit products, and operation of procurement processes tailored to customer requirements.

The company plans to combine this with its existing domestic and overseas material sourcing capabilities and global supply chain management (SCM) infrastructure to expand its business in the aerospace and defense sectors. It expects to go beyond supporting stable material procurement for domestic defense companies to providing supply chain management services needed in the process of expanding exports and entering overseas bases.

In particular, based on an aerospace and defense-focused sourcing network that encompasses domestic partners and overseas manufacturers and distributors, the company intends to expand its support scope from the procurement of consumables, auxiliary materials and raw materials to export packaging and transportation, as well as local procurement and inventory operations.

Sub One expects that this certification will serve as a foundation for demonstrating its quality management systems when dealing with domestic and overseas aerospace and defense companies, and for expanding its global supply chain business. The company stated that it plans to foster the defense sector as a key growth industry, following its existing shipbuilding business.
