Deep tech-focused venture builder Moringa Ventures, headquartered in Singapore, and deep tech commercialization platform Auxos Ventures announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to support overseas expansion by Korean deep tech startups.
The initiative aims to support startups that possess strong technological capabilities but face difficulties due to a lack of overseas networks and localization strategies. The two companies plan to use Singapore, a gateway to the Southeast Asian market and a major investment hub, as a foothold to actively pursue venture building and investment linkages.
The collaboration will be driven by two main pillars: commercialization support and investment cooperation. Based on Auxos Ventures’ commercialization capabilities, the parties will discuss proof-of-concept (PoC) projects for entry into Singapore and Southeast Asia, joint research and development, and the establishment of local networks. At the same time, they will explore a co-investment framework to jointly identify and invest in promising startups.
Auxos Ventures is a platform that supports the commercialization of technologies in five advanced sectors: advanced materials and manufacturing, aerospace and defense, artificial intelligence (AI), energy, and marine technology. It has served as a bridge connecting startups with government, large corporations, and research institutions, and is currently working to establish a new fund.
Moringa Ventures is a venture builder that nurtures early-stage startups in eight deep tech fields, including robotics, bio, AI, and space and telecommunications. It operates on the basis of Tembusu Fund VCC, a fund managed by local private equity firm Tembusu Partners, and provides management advisory and network connections. It has continued collaborative projects with major Korean institutions, including KAIST.
The industry expects that, as localization support from the Singapore base and joint investment are pursued together, the initiative will provide substantial assistance to startups’ overseas expansion. However, observers note that concrete implementation measures and tangible outcomes, such as the results of the first collaborative project, will need to be monitored over time.
The two companies plan to establish detailed execution plans and roll out collaborative projects sequentially from the fourth quarter of this year.
