Travel Wallet has formally begun preparations for an initial public offering (IPO) with the goal of listing on KOSDAQ in 2027. Having completed agreements with its lead underwriters and begun conversion to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company is accelerating overseas expansion by seeking to launch services in the United States in the second half of this year.
On the 21st, Travel Wallet (CEO Kim Hyung-woo) announced that it has signed IPO lead-underwriting agreements with KB Securities and NH Investment & Securities, and is currently carrying out IFRS conversion work with Samjong KPMG. The target listing date is 2027.
After selecting KB Securities and NH Investment & Securities as IPO lead underwriters in June, Travel Wallet recently finalized lead-underwriting agreements with both companies. The company is now proceeding with follow-up procedures while discussing listing strategies and detailed schedules with the underwriting syndicate.
The IFRS conversion work is also underway. IFRS conversion is the process of changing financial statements and accounting policies that followed existing accounting standards to align with international standards.
Travel Wallet has conducted two on-site reviews with Samjong KPMG so far and is reorganizing its financial reporting system and accounting policies based on these reviews.
● Entry into the U.S. market after Japan…enhancing mid- to long-term growth potentialAlongside IPO preparations, the company is also pursuing overseas business expansion. Following the launch of its local service in Japan in April, Travel Wallet is targeting entry into the U.S. market in the second half of this year.
A Travel Wallet official said, “Starting with Japan, we are analyzing business feasibility and market potential in 13 countries, including the United States, Singapore, and Hong Kong, to expand our global operations,” adding, “We are aiming for the second half of 2026 for the launch of U.S. services.”
Travel Wallet plans to grow its overseas business by tailoring the foreign exchange and payment services it has been operating domestically to align with each country’s regulations and financial environment.
CEO Kim Hyung-woo said, “We are sequentially carrying out the procedures required for a 2027 KOSDAQ listing, including the selection and contracting of lead underwriters, IFRS conversion, and on-site reviews,” and added, “We will pursue IPO preparations and global business expansion in parallel to enhance our mid- to long-term growth potential while also advancing our financial and management systems.”
