Woori Financial Group has unveiled a KRW 7 trillion roadmap for productive finance investment. Its affiliates will provide venture capital across all stages, from the discovery of early-stage startups through to initial public offerings (IPOs).

On the 7th, Woori Financial held a conference at the Woori Bank head office in Jung-gu, Seoul, under the theme “The Future of Innovation Drawn by Productive Finance,” and announced this investment plan. Woori Financial will supply a total of KRW 90 trillion to its “Future Co-Growth Project,” which encompasses productive finance and inclusive finance. Of this, the KRW 7 trillion investment plan was detailed on this occasion.

Woori Financial has established a venture capital supply system that supports the entire corporate growth cycle, from startup discovery and follow-on investment to scale-up (rapid expansion) and IPO. Early-stage companies will first be supported through the startup nurturing platform “Dino Lab Fund.” Dino Lab has discovered and fostered 231 companies over seven years through business model and technology validation processes, with cumulative investment reaching KRW 470 billion.

Growth-stage companies that start to generate full-scale revenue are financed through a corporate venture capital (CVC) fund. The first CVC fund, created in 2022 with a size of KRW 50 billion, invested in 34 companies. A second fund with a size of KRW 70 billion is currently being formed.

At the scale-up stage, where companies firmly establish themselves, accelerate external growth, and optimize their profit structures, Woori Venture Partners provides venture capital. At the pre-IPO stage, when companies seek to maximize corporate value before listing, Woori Investment & Securities supplies venture capital.
