Doosan Enerbility has jointly developed a system to monitor generator conditions with Createch, an engineering specialist in noise and vibration, and will supply it for the replacement of generators at Units 1 and 2 of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant in the Czech Republic.

Doosan Enerbility announced on the 6th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Createch’s Ulsan plant to commemorate the overseas nuclear power plant entry of the jointly developed system “B-EYES” and to promote cooperation. “B-EYES” is a measurement system that conducts pre-diagnosis of potential failures and generator operating conditions by measuring in real time the temperature, vibration, and wear level of the “brush,” a component that supplies electric current to the generator’s rotating shaft. The brush is a core generator component that, if its condition deteriorates, can overheat or produce sparks leading to fire, and even if it does not, it can cause a decline in power generation quality.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly carry out production, maintenance, and after-sales service of the B-EYES system, and will also jointly pursue business to supply the system to nuclear and thermal power plants in Korea and overseas, starting with the Czech nuclear project. A Doosan Enerbility representative stated, “The Czech nuclear power plant project will demonstrate our technological competitiveness, and we will continue to advance technological cooperation jointly with Createch in the future.”
