SK AX is joining forces with OpenAI to expand its enterprise AI business.
SK AX announced on the 14th that it has signed a “Service Partner Agreement for Enterprise AI Business Cooperation” with OpenAI. The signing ceremony was attended by SK AX President Kim Wan-jong and Anthony Russell, Head of Partnerships for Asia-Pacific at OpenAI, along with executives from both companies.
The two companies agreed to cooperate to address the difficulties companies face in generating tangible results by connecting generative AI, such as ChatGPT, across their workflows and systems, even as such technologies spread. They will also work to resolve issues arising from “shadow AI,” where internal employees use AI in their work without dedicated security and management systems.
The companies plan to combine an AI utilization environment based on ChatGPT Enterprise with SK AX’s capabilities in designing, building, and operating industry-specific systems, in order to enhance productivity across overall corporate operations and mitigate data security concerns.
SK AX provides integrated services that span the entire AX (Augmented Experience) domain, including ▲consulting ▲building and operating multi-agents through integration with internal systems ▲establishing security and governance frameworks ▲and change management for executives and employees. In addition, AI architects, data experts, and industry-specific domain specialists work together to ensure that generative AI can be stably applied to companies’ actual work environments.
ChatGPT Enterprise offers security and personal data protection features optimized for corporate environments. It expands the scope of business use based on ▲the ability to analyze and understand vast volumes of documents at once ▲advanced data analysis ▲and various customization functions.
OpenAI believes that security and data control must be prerequisites for realizing the full value of ChatGPT Enterprise. It is understood that OpenAI positively assessed SK AX’s capabilities, including its long-standing understanding and experience with industry-specific systems and data structures, and selected it as the optimal partner for promoting its business in Korea.
An SK AX official said, “This collaboration will be an important turning point in applying generative AI to real business and accelerating AX transformation across organizations,” adding, “Based on the AI technological capabilities and business experience SK AX has accumulated, we will elevate our corporate clients’ AX execution capabilities to the next level.”
Meanwhile, SK AX President Kim Wan-jong intends to realize “AI augmentation” through collaboration with OpenAI. In his New Year’s address, he declared this year to be the inaugural year of the “Great AI Voyage Era,” stating, “Companies that fail to augment themselves through AI may stagnate or face ‘sudden death.’ Only companies that achieve augmentation through AI will be able to chart new courses in this era of great transformation.”
