LG CNS has unveiled a next-generation logistics robot that operates 24 hours a day even in frozen warehouses at minus 26 degrees Celsius, expanding the operating range of logistics robots into ultra-low temperatures that had previously restricted their use. The company plans to rapidly expand its market to domestic and overseas companies that operate frozen warehouses.

On the 13th (local time), LG CNS introduced its logistics automation robot “Mobile Shuttle” at MODEX 2026, North America’s largest logistics exhibition, held in Atlanta, United States. The robot is designed to operate stably in low-temperature environments down to minus 26 degrees Celsius, enabling its application in cold chain logistics for sectors such as food, distribution, and pharmaceuticals. Each Mobile Shuttle can carry up to 1,500 kg of goods. Its ability to move forward, backward, sideways, and vertically is also cited as a key strength.

Although factory automation has been advancing across various industries, including manufacturing, it has shown limitations in terms of flexible response. The company has equipped the Mobile Shuttle with an artificial intelligence (AI) agent function to enable immediate responses. In exceptional situations such as “urgent shipment,” on-site workers can directly control the shuttle robot through a chatbot. If an abnormality occurs in the robot, the AI agent analyzes the cause and presents response measures to the worker.

LG CNS stated that last month it signed a contract to build a Mobile Shuttle-based logistics automation system for a Paris Baguette baking plant under construction in Texas, United States. The company has also applied this system to LG affiliate factories in North America. Lee Jun-ho, head of the Smart Logistics & City Business Division, said, “By introducing a Mobile Shuttle that can be applied even in refrigerated and frozen environments, we have expanded the scope of logistics automation,” adding, “On this basis, we will continue to expand our global business.”
