BEATOZ announced on the 13th that it has successfully completed a “stablecoin-based payment ecosystem technology verification (PoC)” jointly with Modetour, Jeonbuk Bank, and Ringnet.
This PoC was a project to verify the feasibility of applying stablecoin payments to Modetour’s travel products. Focusing on the customer base of Jeonbuk Bank, the project mainly tested a cross‑border payment model that enables inbound tourists visiting Korea and foreign residents in Korea (workers, international students, etc.) to purchase travel products without complex foreign exchange procedures or high intermediary fees.
Clear division of roles among participating companies enhanced the completeness of the system. BEATOZ and Ringnet demonstrated the technical feasibility of the payment infrastructure through a hybrid blockchain and the CPG (Crypto Payment Gateway) solution jointly developed by the two companies. Jeonbuk Bank cross‑verified the flow of funds and financial stability throughout the entire lifecycle of the stablecoin, validating institutional‑grade reliability. Modetour verified business feasibility by linking the PoC with its own products in a near‑real service environment.
Through this PoC, the participants also implemented instant refunds based on smart contracts and automated settlements with partner companies, effectively improving fee burdens and settlement delays that had occurred in existing cross‑border payments.
A Jeonbuk Bank representative said, “This PoC is a case that verified the entire process in which customers’ stablecoins, based on a custody wallet, are utilized on the blockchain all the way through to payment and settlement,” adding, “We plan to review service development so that both domestic and foreign customers can enjoy a faster and more transparent experience across the entire spectrum of travel‑related financial services.”
Woo Joon-yeol, CEO of Modetour, said, “This PoC is a project that confirmed the potential of a cross‑border payment model that anyone can use regardless of nationality by combining Modetour’s travel products with a stablecoin infrastructure whose technological capabilities and financial‑sector‑level reliability have been verified,” and added, “Going forward, we will continue to expand cooperation with partners to introduce differentiated payment environments and travel services that enhance customer convenience.”
Lee Sang-guk, CEO of BEATOZ, said, “Through this PoC, we have technically proven that a regulation‑friendly hybrid blockchain and the CPG solution can operate in an actual payment environment,” adding, “Based on this, we will expand a payment infrastructure optimized for KRW stablecoins beyond travel into various industrial sectors.”
