All-in-one video AI platform Morphic announced that it has released “Moonlight Veil,” the world’s first original AI film based on Korean historical drama (sageuk).

The work is an AI-based short film set in the royal court of the Joseon Dynasty, intertwining political power and romance, and was released through Morphic’s official YouTube channel. CEO JD Kanani and Morphic’s creative team were responsible for the screenplay and production. While most existing AI content has been limited to short clips, this work has been evaluated as achieving an immersive narrative structure and consistent character portrayal.

The film meticulously captures the period atmosphere, including the patterns and accessories of hanbok and the detailed depiction of Joseon-era palaces, demonstrating both cultural depth and storytelling. Morphic’s AI technology enhanced the work’s completeness through features such as: △character and style model functions that consistently maintain the faces and styles of key characters △image-to-video functionality for natural scene transitions △lip-sync and scene detail enhancement functions that increase viewer immersion.

JD Kanani, CEO of Morphic, stated, “Through this work, we have demonstrated that AI can fully realize stories that evoke viewers’ emotions,” adding, “The integrated workflow of the Morphic platform provides creators and production companies with an efficient production environment optimized for collaboration.”

Morphic is accelerating its entry into the Korean market with the release of “Moonlight Veil.” The company is also presenting a new creative standard across the film, drama, webtoon, and game industries, helping creators and studios produce narrative-driven content more quickly and efficiently.
