Innoditech has developed “Dr.AlignNavi,” an AI-based collaborative clinical decision support solution (AI CDSS) that assists in establishing orthodontic treatment plans. Dr.AlignNavi analyzes a patient’s 3D intraoral scan data and presents simulations for five orthodontic strategies. Medical staff can intuitively review the probability of success, stability index, and expected treatment period to establish more effective treatment plans. One of Dr.AlignNavi’s strengths is that it shortens the treatment planning process, which used to take more than a week, to under three minutes. This allows medical staff to save time and effort, while patients can gain a better understanding of orthodontic treatment and greater trust in their clinicians.
To pioneer global markets for Dr.AlignNavi, Innoditech is participating in international exhibitions such as CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in the United States and AEEDC (UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition) in Abu Dhabi. Local clinicians and dental experts have responded positively to Dr.AlignNavi’s efficiency and accuracy. Based on this, Innoditech is holding substantive discussions on adoption with partner companies in North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Tangible results are expected within this year.
The reporter met with Joo Bo-hoon, CEO of Innoditech, to discuss Dr.AlignNavi and the outcomes of participating in global exhibitions.

Dental tech company founded on 30 years of orthodontic experienceIT Donga: Please introduce yourself and Innoditech.
CEO Joo Bo-hoon: I am Joo Bo-hoon of Innoditech. I studied orthodontics in the United States and have worked as an orthodontic specialist in both the U.S. and Korea. I am also currently serving as the head director of Star28 Dental Clinic. I founded Innoditech to promote the wider adoption of orthodontic treatment in Korea, based on the data, experience, and know-how accumulated over 30 years of orthodontic practice.
Since its establishment in 2019, Innoditech has focused on standardizing and objectifying orthodontic treatment and has provided the clear aligner solution “ClaraAI” and the AI-based collaborative clinical decision support solution “Dr.AlignNavi.” Initially, the business centered on clear aligner manufacturing technology, but later expanded into AI-based software to resolve inefficiencies throughout the entire orthodontic treatment process. As a dental tech company, it now focuses on creating digital orthodontic solutions that can be used not only in Korea but also in global markets.
Dr.AlignNavi provides five orthodontic treatment plans simultaneouslyIT Donga: Innoditech recently launched Dr.AlignNavi. What motivated the development of Dr.AlignNavi?
CEO Joo: The crucial part of orthodontic treatment is the treatment plan that designs tooth movement. Targets must be set according to the patient’s condition, 2–3 treatment plans must be established, and then the optimal plan must be derived. This is not easy even for orthodontic specialists. It requires a considerable amount of time and effort, as well as experience and know-how. If the patient’s condition is not sufficiently considered, side effects may occur.
This made us feel the need for a solution that would enable medical staff to establish treatment plans quickly and effectively. We judged it to be an essential solution for realizing Innoditech’s founding goal of “creating a world where anyone can easily provide orthodontic treatment.” This is why we developed Dr.AlignNavi.
IT Donga: Please explain Dr.AlignNavi in more detail.
CEO Joo: Dr.AlignNavi is an AI-based collaborative clinical decision support solution that assists clinicians in establishing treatment plans. It supports clinicians in making decisions based on more consistent and objective criteria by providing diagnosis, treatment planning, and orthodontic simulations, which are core to orthodontic treatment.
When a patient’s 3D intraoral scan data are entered, Dr.AlignNavi separates and analyzes tooth objects and diagnoses malocclusion. It then presents five orthodontic strategies suited to the patient’s condition. The five strategies are: overall tooth alignment (Simple), anterior teeth maintenance (Hold AP), arch expansion (Expand), space gaining (IPR), and post-extraction orthodontics. Medical staff can review simulations of each strategy and display them on a single screen for comparison or modification.
For reference, during development the solution was called Dr.DentAI, but upon official launch, the name was changed to Dr.AlignNavi to clearly express that it is an orthodontics-related solution. The company plans to develop solutions in various dental fields such as implants and prosthodontics in the future, and intends to name the platform that encompasses all these solutions Dr.DentAI.

IT Donga: For AI, training data are critical. Medical data are not easy to obtain. What data were used to train Dr.AlignNavi?
CEO Joo: Over 30 years as an orthodontic specialist, I accumulated real successful case data from treating patients. I have more than 5,000 datasets, including pre-, mid-, and post-treatment intraoral photos, X-rays, and 3D scan data. These are not simple images; they are datasets with significant medical value that contain relational information such as tooth position, movement patterns, occlusal changes, and dental arch structure. Based on this, we trained the AI and advanced it through repeated verification. As a result, we were able to complete an AI model specialized in orthodontics.
IT Donga: Many AI dental solutions have recently been launched. What differentiates Dr.AlignNavi?
CEO Joo: The biggest differentiator of Dr.AlignNavi is its function for comparing and recommending five treatment plans using simulations. While existing solutions provide a single result, Dr.AlignNavi simultaneously presents five treatment plans that reflect different conditions such as the amount of tooth movement, occlusal changes, treatment duration, and stability. Clinicians are not forced to rely on a single result; they can quickly and accurately select the most suitable strategy by visually comparing treatment processes by condition at a glance.
Visualization is also a strength. Dr.AlignNavi displays tooth movement processes by strategy and by treatment stage through 3D graphics-based simulations. It allows comparison of each strategy on a single screen and enables clinicians to check specific numerical values for treatment success probability, stability index, and expected duration. Patients can also see in 3D graphics the direction and speed of tooth movement and how their teeth will change at each stage, thus previewing how their orthodontic treatment will proceed. This enhances their understanding of treatment and their trust in medical staff.
In addition, clinicians can save time and effort. Previously, clinicians needed more than a week to establish a treatment plan, but by using Dr.AlignNavi this can be shortened to under three minutes. This creates an environment where medical staff can focus on improving treatment outcomes.
Dr.AlignNavi is also a solution that can contribute to the development of the dental industry. Orthodontic outcomes have traditionally depended heavily on the experience and subjective judgment of clinicians, but by using Dr.AlignNavi, variation among clinicians can be reduced.
