Hanwha Vision announced on the 3rd that it has obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification, an international standard for the responsible operation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

Through this certification, Hanwha Vision stated that it has been officially recognized for establishing and operating an AI Management System (AIMS) in accordance with international standard requirements. The company explained that this has laid the foundation for providing more reliable AI-based video security solutions.

ISO/IEC 42001 is an AI management system international standard jointly established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It presents management frameworks and requirements to ensure that organizations developing, providing, and utilizing AI-based products and services can operate AI systems in a responsible and safe manner.

In the video security industry, the importance of international certification that demonstrates ethics and safety is growing alongside the spread of AI technology. Strengthening ethical standards and securing safety throughout the entire process—from the development stage, including data training, to the commercialization stage that encompasses information protection—is regarded as a key task.

Hanwha Vision obtained this certification by meeting international standard requirements in key assessment areas such as the establishment, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of its AI management system, thereby securing differentiated reliability and transparency in the video security market.

Based on this certification, Hanwha Vision plans to respond proactively to changes in the global AI regulatory environment, including the European Union (EU) AI Act. The company intends to pursue trust-based technological innovation through continuous monitoring and improvement of its AI management system.
