Seoul Women’s University has declared its “AX (AI Transformation) Vision,” which redefines the fundamental role and educational values of universities in the era of AI.
On January 22, Seoul Women’s University held the “Seoul Women’s University AX Vision Proclamation Ceremony” at the International Conference Room of the 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall. The event filled the venue with about 200 attendees, including key internal and external guests, faculty and staff, and students.
Seoul Women’s University announced as its AX vision the slogans expressing its ambition to become a leading AX university: “AI to Learn, Human to Share (AI that supports human growth, humans that connect communities)” and “A university that drives social innovation through people-centered technology.”
The event was attended by Kim Kyung-jin, Chair of the Board of Jungui Academy; National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik; Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok; Seoul Metropolitan Council members Oh Geum-ran and Seo Joon-oh; Bluepoint Partners CEO Lee Yong-kwan; and Kwangwoon University President Yoon Do-young, who delivered congratulatory remarks. Presidents of local universities, as well as figures from politics, government, industry, and academia, were also present in large numbers. Starting from this vision declaration, Seoul Women’s University plans to play a central role in presenting the direction of a human-centered AI era while continuing the university’s growth.
President Lee Yoon-sun stated, “The faster technology develops, the more universities must ask whether the direction of that development is right,” and emphasized, “In the AI era, the language of Seoul Women’s University is to speak again of people, direction, and responsibility in the midst of an age focused on speed and efficiency.”
She also introduced the university’s educational philosophy, which has placed the value of “us” at the center as much as the value of “me,” and declared, “AI is not a tool to replace humans but a technology to support human growth, and humans should not be beings who possess that growth alone, but beings who share it with the community. On this philosophy, we will build education for the AI era.”
The AX Vision presented by Seoul Women’s University will be implemented around seven core principles: ▲ prioritization of human values ▲ pursuit of social innovation ▲ focus on participation and experience ▲ convergence and collaborative education ▲ strengthening of women’s leadership and inclusiveness ▲ linkage of research, education, and administration ▲ AI education based on global cooperation.
Planning Director Park Nam-choon then announced the specific “AX Implementation Strategy.” Seoul Women’s University plans to advance a data-based personalized learning support system, establish a presidential AX control tower, innovate its academic structure to lead AI convergence education, pursue data-driven intelligent administrative innovation, and build an AX framework for AI convergence curricula that transcend major boundaries and for ultra-connected liberal arts convergence.
Director Park stated, “Seoul Women’s University will carry out innovation across all areas, from on-campus administrative systems to teaching methods, to create a new standard for universities in the AI era.”
