Ourhome is joining hands with the Korea Food Research Institute to conduct joint research aimed at advancing food safety technologies and food tech (food technology). Ourhome announced on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for “joint research cooperation on overall food safety and food technology” at the Korea Food Research Institute in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, on the 20th. The signing ceremony was attended by Yang Dong-woon, Head of Safety and Environment at Ourhome, Korea Food Research Institute President Baek Hyun-dong, and officials from both institutions.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will establish a mid- to long-term cooperation framework across Ourhome’s research and development (R&D), including ▲advancement of food safety technologies ▲development of field-customized quality and hygiene management technologies ▲food tech-based research ▲research linked to new businesses and commercialization.

Ourhome plans to promote practical, field-oriented research by combining the Korea Food Research Institute’s capabilities in food science and process technologies with on-site data accumulated from its diverse business segments, including group catering, dining-out, manufacturing, and logistics. Through this, it will develop food safety and quality management technologies applicable to domestic and overseas business sites and gradually expand the scope of application.

In particular, the two sides will jointly develop technologies that can rapidly diagnose and manage microbial contamination that may occur during food manufacturing processes. The goal is to establish a platform that efficiently monitors hygiene conditions and contamination levels in various environments such as food processing facilities, group catering sites, and hospitals by utilizing rapid diagnostic kits and sensor technologies.

They also plan to expand joint research focusing on AI-based prediction and management systems, the advancement of process and quality management technologies, and food poisoning prevention technologies. The two institutions agreed to cooperate in product development for entry into new markets, as well as in research on quality and hygiene management technologies going forward.

An Ourhome representative stated, “Through this collaboration, we will strengthen our food safety technological capabilities and further advance our field-oriented safety management system. Based on technological innovation, we will grow into a trusted food company.”
