The clinical trial sample analysis organization GCCL has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with global contract research organization (CRO) OPIS Research CRO.

GCCL announced on the 15th that it had signed an MOU with OPIS on cooperation in global clinical trial operations during the 2026 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference (JPMHC), held in San Francisco, United States, on the 14th.

This agreement was pursued to provide clinical trial contract consulting and sample analysis services to new drug developers in Europe and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region by combining the two companies’ global clinical execution capabilities, at a time when the increase in multinational clinical trials is driving a growing need for tailored responses to country-specific regulations and clinical environments.

The signing ceremony took place at the 2026 Biotech Showcase exhibition, in which both companies participated, and was attended by Giovanni Trollese, Vice President of OPIS Global, GCCL CEO Kwan-gu Cho, and other officials from both sides. The two companies agreed to cooperate mainly in global clinical trial service collaboration, joint marketing, project support, and the identification of new business opportunities.

Giovanni Trollese, Vice President of OPIS, said, “By combining OPIS’s global network with GCCL’s clinical trial analysis capabilities, it is expected to be possible to provide integrated clinical trial services to global clients.”

GCCL CEO Kwan-gu Cho stated, “Through this agreement, the company plans to strengthen its capabilities to provide customized clinical trial solutions for global new drug developers.”

OPIS is a global CRO headquartered in Italy, founded in 1998, providing services across all phases of clinical development from Phase 1 to 4, and currently operating subsidiaries in 18 countries. GCCL is a clinical trial sample analysis organization that has obtained full-field GCLP certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and provides clinical analysis services that meet global standards.
