Pablo Aviation, a specialist in unmanned aerial vehicles, is establishing a mass production system for drones, the first of its kind in the domestic industry. The company plans to secure production capabilities through the acquisition of a manufacturing company and strengthen its defense industry drone business.
Recently, at a shareholders' meeting held at its headquarters in Songdo, Incheon, Pablo Aviation passed a resolution to merge with ‘VOLK,’ a company specializing in precision processing of materials and components for the defense industry. The merger is planned to be completed by the 27th of next month, following procedures such as creditor protection announcements and gathering objections.
A representative from Pablo Aviation stated, “We will establish the only mass production system for drones in the country and advance as an ‘unmanned platform’ company,” adding, “We aim to target the global unmanned aerial vehicle market and become a top-tier drone company.”
VOLK, acquired by Pablo Aviation, is a defense company established in 1983. It specializes in precision processing and can independently develop and mass-produce defense components such as cabinets, control equipment, and drive equipment used by the Korean Army, Navy, and Air Force. The company employs advanced manufacturing equipment, research and development (R&D), and manufacturing specialists, maintaining close cooperative relationships with major domestic defense companies. Last year, its sales amounted to approximately KRW 32.7 billion, an increase of about 11% from the previous year, and it expects to achieve sales exceeding KRW 40 billion this year. Pablo Aviation explained that growth is expected to continue as contract orders increase.
A Pablo Aviation representative stated, “This is the only case in the country where a startup merges with a small but strong company with over 40 years of experience,” adding, “We will increase the proportion of our defense drone business based on the high trust in Pablo Aviation’s drone business field and technology.”

Through this merger and acquisition, Pablo Aviation has secured a manufacturing infrastructure that has passed Mil-spec certification. It is now the only domestic company capable of mass-producing a variety of drone products, including the defense-exclusive brand ‘Pablo M series’ swarm suicide drone S10s launched earlier this year, as well as medium and large suicide drones under development, reconnaissance and multipurpose drones, and inspection-specific drones.
Additionally, Pablo Aviation emphasized that it has laid the foundation to grow into a platform company capable of designing new concepts of future combat systems and producing and operating the entire process of aircraft and consumables with its own technology by further advancing its independently developed AI-based ‘swarm coordination’ technology.
Kim Young-jun, CEO of Pablo Aviation, stated, “This merger will be an important milestone for Pablo Aviation, which has built strengths in the drone art show and drone delivery fields, to expand beyond domestic defense into the global unmanned aerial vehicle and unmanned robot industries,” adding, “By combining Pablo Aviation’s technological competitiveness with precision mass production capabilities, we expect to expand partnerships with domestic and international defense companies and increase contract orders.”
Meanwhile, Pablo Aviation recently entered the fourth stage of swarm coordination technology for the first time in the country, expanding its presence in the defense sector. At a suicide drone demonstration invited by the Army Headquarters last June, it successfully targeted using the ‘Salvo Strike’ method, which involves simultaneous and staggered strikes through swarm flight. In July last year, it shared its technological achievements and showcased its swarm drone technology at the ‘Aerospace Weapon System Technology Development Conference 2025’ hosted by the Air Force.
