At Samsung Electronics’ exclusive exhibition hall at CES 2026, an attendee experiences ‘Fender Play TV’.
Samsung Electronics is introducing the guitar learning platform app ‘Fender Play TV’ on Samsung AI TV in collaboration with the global musical instrument brand Fender.
Through this collaboration, Samsung Electronics is leveraging the large screen in the living room to provide a more immersive instrument education environment, while newly adding global music education content to the Samsung AI TV ecosystem.
Fender Play TV is characterized by its departure from conventional mobile- and tablet-centered learning methods, instead using the TV’s high-definition display and rich sound to deliver a vivid lesson experience that feels like facing a live instructor.
Founded in the United States in 1946, Fender is a specialized manufacturer of musical instruments such as guitars, basses, and amplifiers, and is a prestigious brand that has produced guitars favored by world-renowned musicians including Eric Clapton, Kurt Cobain, and Buddy Holly.
Fender Play TV was designed based on Fender’s data that about 90% of beginner guitarists give up learning midway. Samsung TV users can select their desired instrument from ▲electric guitar ▲acoustic guitar ▲bass ▲ukulele and follow a step-by-step curriculum.
For beginners, video content focused on practical exercises is provided, covering fundamentals such as how to hold the guitar, tuning methods, chord playing, reading tablature (Tab) notation, and playing riffs. In addition, ‘Jam Mode’, which offers an experience akin to ensemble playing on a virtual stage set against the TV screen, is said to further enhance the enjoyment and immersion of playing.
Lee Heon, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display (VD) Business, said, “Samsung TV is now evolving beyond simple content viewing into a central platform for home life where learning, self-development, and enjoyment coexist,” adding, “Through collaboration with Fender, we will continue to work together so that instrument playing naturally permeates everyday life.”
Cliff Kim, Head of the Fender Play TV Business Unit, said, “We are pleased to deliver Fender Play TV’s innovative interactive lessons through Samsung TV’s overwhelming picture quality and large screen,” and added, “We will provide the optimal environment for music enthusiasts around the world to learn instruments at home in the most comfortable and effective way.”
The Fender Play TV app is scheduled to launch on Samsung TVs and Smart Monitors in the first half of 2026, and previous models will be supported sequentially through future software updates.
