Moon Hyuk-soo, President and CEO of LG Innotek, stated that the company is “expanding its business in future fields such as automotive electronics and robotics,” adding, “Starting this year, we are already generating sales in the hundreds of KRW billions in sensing components for robots.”

Speaking with reporters on the 7th (local time) at CES 2026, the world’s largest electronics and information technology (IT) trade show held in Las Vegas, United States, Moon said, “Robotics technology is already by our side.” He added, “In particular, industrial humanoids (human-shaped robots) will be deployed in the field much faster than household robots,” explaining, “Compared with household robots, industrial robots that perform simple repetitive and complex tasks are already at a level where they can be applied immediately.”

Moon expressed confidence that “tangible results will emerge from this year and next year.” In fact, LG Innotek has identified robots as a new growth engine and, since last year, has been cooperating with Boston Dynamics in the United States to develop a “vision sensing system,” the “eyes” of a robot. It has also secured Figure AI, a next-generation humanoid startup, as a client.

Moon said that at this year’s CES 2026, he focused on physical artificial intelligence (AI), including robots, in meetings with customers. He also revealed that LG Innotek is currently developing robot hands required for humanoids. “To produce robot hands, we met with partner companies and chip manufacturers,” Moon said.

Moon also disclosed that the company is targeting mass production of next-generation glass substrates in 2028. “Product development has already been completed, and we have finished bringing in equipment and building a pilot line at the Magok R&D Center,” he said.
