Samsung Electronics posted operating profit in the KRW 20 trillion range in the fourth quarter (October–December) of last year, achieving the largest quarterly performance in its history. Among domestic companies, Samsung Electronics is the first to exceed KRW 20 trillion in operating profit in a single quarter.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that on a consolidated basis it recorded provisional results for the fourth quarter of 2025 of KRW 93 trillion in revenue and KRW 20 trillion in operating profit. Compared with the same period a year earlier, revenue increased by 22.71% and operating profit by 208.17%.

The operating profit disclosed by Samsung Electronics on the day exceeded the market consensus (about KRW 18,509.8 billion) by around KRW 1.5 trillion. It is also the highest level in 29 quarters since KRW 17.6 trillion in the third quarter of 2018.

Industry analysts assess that a broad-based increase in memory semiconductor prices driven by expanding demand for artificial intelligence (AI) led to the unprecedented strong performance.

Prices of general-purpose DRAM and NAND, as well as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), all trended upward, and the DS (Device Solutions) division, which is responsible for the semiconductor business, alone is estimated to have generated operating profit of more than KRW 16 trillion.

Meanwhile, the provisional figures are estimates based on Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) and are provided to assist investors’ convenience. Samsung Electronics plans to hold an earnings conference call at the end of this month.
