LG Electronics has unveiled “CLOi-D,” a home robot equipped with sophisticated dual arms and finger joints that can perform practical household chores such as laundry and kitchen assistance. The robot automatically adjusts its height and aims for the complete automation of housework. Newsis
The era of “zero housework,” in which people are completely freed from household labor, has moved a step closer. LG Electronics has drawn global attention by debuting an intelligent home robot that precisely reproduces human arm and hand movements to handle complex household tasks with ease.
LG Electronics on the 5th (local time) unveiled the home robot “LG CLOi-D,” specialized in household chores, at “CES 2026,” which opened in Las Vegas, United States.

CLOi-D combines an upper body with a head and two arms with a wheel-based lower body featuring autonomous driving capabilities, enabling it to move freely through complex indoor spaces while performing household tasks.
The robot’s arms consist of seven joints from shoulder to wrist, providing a range of motion similar to human arms. In particular, its five individually jointed fingers can perform high-difficulty tasks such as taking thin pieces of clothing one by one from a laundry basket and putting them into a washing machine, or precisely folding towels after washing is complete.

It can also adjust its torso angle on its own, changing its height from 105 cm to a maximum of 143 cm. Thanks to this, it can pick up car keys dropped on the floor and place them on the dining table, take food out from deep inside a refrigerator, and place it in an oven positioned at a high location without difficulty.
Starting with CLOi-D, LG Electronics plans to continue introducing home robots with enhanced practicality. The company intends to expand “robotized home appliances,” in which robotic technology is directly embedded into appliances, such as self-moving cleaning robots and refrigerators with automatically opening doors.
