At CES 2026, the world’s largest information technology (IT) and home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas, the United States, Hyundai Motor Company’s autonomous driving mobility robot platform “MobED” (photo) won the Best of Innovation Award in the robotics category.

Hyundai Motor announced on the 5th that “the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States, which comprehensively evaluates innovation, design and technology, awarded MobED the Best of Innovation Award after it received the highest score in the Innovation Awards category on the 4th (local time).”

MobED is an autonomous driving robot platform whose concept model was first unveiled by Hyundai Motor at CES 2022. Over the following three years, the company developed related technologies and unveiled a mass-production model for the first time at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) in Japan in December last year.

MobED is an autonomous driving robot that loads cargo on a flat loading deck and moves on four wheels. Its core technology is the “eccentric wheel-based DnL (Drive to Lift)” function, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) and sensors such as LiDAR and cameras to autonomously drive while maintaining the level or tilt of the loading deck as desired, even on surfaces with significant height differences and irregularities.

The company stated, “With a maximum payload of 57 kg and a top speed of 10 km/h, it is designed to travel for four hours on a single charge, allowing for diverse applications in delivery, logistics, and filming,” adding, “The company will continue to enhance AI-based robotic autonomous driving technologies in the future.”
