LG Electronics will unveil the humanoid home robot ‘CLOiD’, which assists with household chores, at CES 2026, the world’s largest information technology (IT) and home appliance exhibition, to be held in Las Vegas, United States, in January next year.

On the 25th, LG Electronics released a teaser video of CLOiD through its social networking service (SNS) channels. The video shows the robot using its five fingers to pick up household items such as a blanket and bumping fists with a person. CLOiD is a name that combines the company’s existing robot brand ‘CLOi’ with the letter ‘D’, which stands for ‘Dynamic’.

CLOiD has been developed in a form that performs household chores using both arms and five human-like fingers. Based on artificial intelligence (AI), it recognizes and learns from the user’s environment and is also equipped with a function to centrally control LG Electronics’ AI home appliances.

LG Electronics is accelerating the advancement of technologies in the robotics field, including home robots. In its year-end organizational restructuring, the company integrated previously dispersed robot-related technology units and established the ‘HS Robotics Lab’ under the HS Business Division. This measure is intended to concentrate in-house capabilities related to home robots and strengthen product competitiveness.

The company is also expanding external collaboration. This year, LG Electronics signed separate business agreements for robot research with the robotics specialist company Robotis and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and is conducting joint research with them. It is also securing home robot-related technologies by investing in global robotics companies such as Figure AI in the United States and Agibot in China. Baek Seung-tae, Executive Vice President and Head of the HS Business Division at LG Electronics, said, “At CES 2026, LG Electronics will showcase its efforts toward a vision of liberation from housework, including the unveiling of CLOiD.”
