Samsung Electronics is introducing a new refrigerator model equipped with Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) model “Gemini.” Samsung Electronics announced on the 21st that, ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, the world’s largest information technology (IT) and home appliance exhibition to be held next January, it will host “The First Look,” a home appliance launch event in Las Vegas, United States, where it will unveil the new Bespoke AI Refrigerator model featuring Gemini.

The new product combines Gemini with the “AI Vision” function, which recognizes ingredients using an internal refrigerator camera, significantly expanding the range of detectable food items. Previously, AI Vision could automatically recognize 37 types of fresh foods and 50 types of processed and packaged foods, but as the technology has advanced, the variety of ingredients it can identify has greatly increased. It can also recognize the information written on labels attached to containers holding food and automatically register the items on a grocery list.

The AI Vision technology will also be expanded to wine refrigerators. By recognizing wine bottles with an internal camera, it automatically records the name, grape variety, and vintage, and provides real-time updates on changes in storage location or whether a bottle has been removed.

Food management features have also been enhanced. Through the “AI Food Manager,” the system analyzes users’ refrigerator usage patterns. It then informs users of ingredients that need to be purchased, recommends recipes, and supports organizing ingredient usage histories. Samsung Electronics plans to apply these features to products scheduled for release next year, including the Bespoke AI Family Hub and hybrid refrigerators, as well as the Infinite AI wine refrigerator.
